Notices on the right-hand display are shown as a continuously looping Microsoft PowerPoint slide show. The Duffield Hall display is similar to a typical widescreen TV; therefore, the notice needs to be in a landscape orientation. Each slide is divided into a horizontal frame (aspect ratio of 4:3) on the left side and a smaller vertical frame on the right side. The left side contains the user's notice; the right side has a standard Duffield welcome image with a web link or other information.
Notices for display may be either a Microsoft PowerPoint file (.ppt) or a JPEG image file (.jpg). Submitting a notice as a PowerPoint file can be more complicated, but allows the opportunity to incorporate a wider variety of elements such as very short movie clips and animation. (Keep in mind that any movie or animation will be truncated at about 10 seconds.) The atrium is used for study, therefore, no sound will be provided.
To facilitate submitting your notice as a PowerPoint file, you should download and save a Power Point example file with appropriately sized master and example slides. Then create your notice as a replacement or modification to an example slide. The notice field in the new slide must be the same size and orientation as the example notice it replaces.
If you want to submit your notice as a single JPEG image file, create the file with the application of your choice so that it has a landscape orientation with a 640 x 480 resolution (4:3 aspect ratio). You may want to download an example of an appropriate JPEG file.
Please check the current notices first to be sure your event isn't already listed.
