Nathan Cho
Nathan Cho is a Ph.D. candidate at Cornell Tech, co-advised by Andrea Lodi in Operations Research and Information Engineering and Anna Scaglione in Electrical and Computer Engineering. His research uses integer optimization methods to coordinate electric transportation and power systems. He studies how electric vehicle fleets can meet travel needs while adjusting when they charge or return power to the grid.
In his work on vehicle-to-grid integration, Nathan develops methods that jointly schedule vehicle trips, charging, and discharging. His recent research also examines demand response at the intersection of the electric grid and the electric vehicle scheduling problem: how grid incentives and electricity prices can shape fleet decisions, and how those decisions in turn affect the grid. He aims to make electrified transportation more efficient while helping power systems use flexible demand and renewable energy.
