Biography
Osman is global co-head of Quantitative Investment Strategies (QIS) within Goldman Sachs Asset Management. The global team of researchers and portfolio managers in QIS oversee a broad spectrum of quantitatively managed strategies, focusing on alpha generation within and across asset classes, efficient delivery of factor exposures, providing investors access to alternative investments with attractive liquidity profiles, and creating structured payoffs.
In his role, he oversees all aspects of the team’s activities across investment research, portfolio management, trading and client strategy.
Previously, Osman was global co-head of Quantitative Equity (QE) within QIS. He first joined QE in 2005, and in 2009 became co-head of Japanese equity research and portfolio management. In 2011, he became head of US equity research and portfolio management and broadened his responsibilities to include all strategies managed by QE in 2013. Osman became global co-head of QE in 2020 and assumed his current role as global co-head of QIS in 2022.
Osman joined Goldman Sachs as an analyst in 2003 and was named managing director in 2011 and partner in 2022. Osman earned an undergraduate degree in Computer Science from Cornell University in 2003 and a graduate degree in Mathematics from Columbia University in 2008. He is a CFA charterholder.
