Suélia Fleury Rosa, associate teaching professor in Cornell’s Meinig School of Biomedical Engineering, is featured in a new Inside Chapel profile exploring her work translating engineering research into practical medical technologies.

Rosa’s translational research has led to technologies including RAPHA, a device that combines LED light and natural latex dressings to treat diabetic foot wounds; Vesta, a nanotechnology-enabled mask designed to deactivate fungi, bacteria and viruses; SOFIA, a device for hepatic radioablation; and ENY, an organ-on-a-chip technology for growing human tissue and testing drugs without animal experiments.

Her current work includes MenoTwin, a platform integrating hormonal, physiological, metabolic and cognitive data to explore personalized approaches to cognitive health during menopause.
