Details
The following are some things to keep in mind as we come together to celebrate our graduates. Additional information can be found on the Cornell University commencement website.

Access/Parking
On Friday, all parking lots are free and open to use while attending events on campus.
On Saturday, all central campus roads, including those surrounding Schoellkopf Field, will be closed 6:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
There is a lot of congestion on campus and in the surrounding area, so give yourself extra travel time.
Follow signs to parking lots where you can ride free shuttle buses to the stadium.Stops “D” and “C” will drop you off on Tower Road, close to Weill Hall. There are no stairs if coming from Tower Rd.
Accessibility parking & seating plans for the stadium can be viewed through the commencement website. Arrangements must be requested ahead of time through the commencement website.

Photography
Family members and guests are encouraged to take pictures and/or video during the ceremonies, but we would ask that you please remain in your seats and be mindful of others so that everyone can enjoy the experience.
Photos of our ceremony will be taken by a professional photographer. Links to photos are available on this website a few weeks after the event.

Class Photos
Official class photos will take place prior to the BME department commencement event.
- Bachelor of Science graduates – 10:00am on the stairwell between Corson/Mudd and Biotech buildings
- Master of Engineering graduates – 10:15am on the stairwell between Corson/Mudd and Biotech buildings
- Master of Science and doctoral graduates – 10:30am on the patio in front of Weill Hall entrance
If you are not here on time, you will not be in the photo.

Food/Dining
Water and snacks will be available after the department event. If you require additional food or beverages, nearby eateries on Tower Road will be open.
- Bus Stop Bagels in Kennedy Hall (across the street): 7:00am – 3:00pm (bagel sandwiches, snacks and hot/cold beverages)
- Trillium in Kennedy Hall (across the street): 10:00am – 4:00pm (multiple meal selections)
- Cornell Dairy Bar in Stocking Hall (up the road): 2:00 – 7:30pm (ice cream, sandwiches, cold beverages)
Reusable water bottles are encouraged. We will have two water tower stations available to refill your vessel.
- By the patio door access to 125 Weill.
- Just inside the door for the hallway that runs along 125 Weill.
There are also drinking fountains at the end of the hallway near the bathrooms.
We will also have limited bottles of water. Please reuse/refill them.
Student Preparations
All students participating in the Commencement Ceremony are required to wear their cap and gown.

Student Registration
Register for commencement by contacting your program coordinator (B.S., M.Eng., Ph.D.) and with any questions.

Cap and Gown
Students who will be participating in the recognition ceremonies are required to wear a cap and gown. Students must pre-order their cap and gown online no later than March 31st.

Diploma Distribution
Diplomas will be distributed by the University after Commencement via postal mail. For additional details, please contact the University Registrar’s Office or visit the Diploma Information page.
Cornell University Commencement
In addition to the Biomedical Engineering Commencement, Cornell hosts a university-wide Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 23 at 2:30 p.m. in Schoelkopf Stadium for all Duffield Engineering students.
